Weight loss: Is reducing caloric intake not yielding results?   Understand the reason

Although a calorie deficit is commonly regarded as the most effective method for weight loss, it is not effective for many individuals.   There are individuals within our midst who, despite reducing their caloric consumption, are unable to achieve weight loss. 

We all know that lowering calories is the first step in losing weight, but how many calories are we truly eliminating? How many calories does the human body need to function well, and how many calories may be cut without negatively impacting internal processes?

"A 5-foot-4-inch, 155-pound lady has to reduce 15 pounds to reach a healthy weight. 155 times 15 is 2,325, the daily calories needed to maintain your weight. Lose weight by dropping below that total, says Harvard Medical School.

"However, calorie consumption should not decrease below 1,200 a day in women or 1,500 a day in men, except under the care of a health expert. The Harvard study warns that a calorie deficit might be harmful because it prevents the body from obtaining enough of certain nutrients.

Calorie counting alone isn't enough for long-term weight maintenance. The fact that strenuous exercise aids in the weight loss of many people explains why calorie restriction works for many, but it cannot be stated to be an ideal technique.

Getting too little calories causes the metabolism to slow. When you cut down the calories, you literally put your body through famine. Because of this, the metabolism slows and the body enters a state called "energy saving mode."

While your calorie intake is normal, you may be increasing your intake of harmful foods. Be mindful of what you put on your plate and aim to eat more fresh produce, whole grains, and minimally processed meals. Both calorie count and nutrition are crucial.

In addition to leading a sedentary lifestyle, sedentary people need to engage in physical exercise. Apart from controlling calories, these folks should engage their body for 30 minutes at least in some type of activity.
