Research suggests that THIS is the optimal eating plan for diabetics looking to shed pounds.

A diabetic patient may benefit in more ways than one from adopting a low-energy diet. In addition, the study team discovered that persons with Type 2 diabetes lost the greatest weight when they followed a low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet for 12 weeks.

In order to maintain a very low energy diet (VLEDs), one must consume less than 3.4 MJ (or 800 kcal) daily. All of the recommended dietary recommendations for optimal health have been included in the diet. The diet has been a component of therapeutic usage for more than 20 years. 

The average individual should expect to lose between 1.5 and 2.5 kg each week when following this eating plan for 8-16 weeks. Long-term glucose metabolism and weight loss may both be enhanced by following this diet for those with type 2 diabetes.

The extremely low energy diet consists of three meals per day with plenty of water. The majority of the meals consist of non-starchy veggies and high-quality proteins. Water consumption of at least 2 liters per day is recommended. 

Following this diet might cause constipation, thus it's recommended that folks perform light exercise as well. Avoiding snacks and booze is crucial since they might add unnecessary calories to your diet.
